Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 9, 2026
Ukulele Inspired is operated by John Nash in Evergreen, Colorado. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit ukuleleinspired.com or take part in our classes and memberships, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you give us. Your name and email address when you sign up for our newsletter, create an account, or contact us. Billing details when you purchase a membership, course, or lesson. Anything you choose to tell us in messages, class questions, or support requests.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Squarespace and Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We receive only confirmation of payment and limited details such as the last four digits and the card type.
Information collected automatically. Our site runs on Squarespace, which collects standard analytics such as pages visited, approximate location, browser and device type, and referring site, using cookies and similar technologies.
Class recordings
Our group classes are recorded, and recordings are posted to the members area so students can review them.
If you attend a live class with your camera or microphone on, you may appear or be heard in that recording. If you would rather not be recorded, you are welcome to keep your camera off and stay muted. It will never affect your participation. If you do appear in a recording and want it removed or edited, email us and we will take care of it.
Recordings are hosted on YouTube as unlisted videos and embedded in member-only pages. Unlisted means they do not appear in YouTube search or on our public channel, but anyone holding the link can view them. Please do not share those links outside your class.
How we use your information
To deliver the classes, courses and memberships you have signed up for; to run your account and process payments; to send you class updates and resources, and our newsletter if you have opted in; to answer your questions; to understand which parts of the site are useful; and to meet our legal and tax obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Services we rely on
Squarespace (website, member accounts, email campaigns, analytics), Stripe (payment processing), YouTube (class recording playback), Soundslice (interactive music notation), Slack (the UkeLab community workspace) and Zoom (live classes). Each of these has its own privacy policy governing the data it handles.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link in any message. You will still receive essential messages about classes you are enrolled in. You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can close your account at any time. Most browsers let you refuse cookies, though parts of the site may not work properly if you do.
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. We will honor those requests regardless of where you are located.
Children
Our classes and materials are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Younger students sometimes take part alongside a parent or guardian, and in that case the account and any information provided should belong to the adult. If you believe a child has given us information directly, contact us and we will delete it.
Keeping your information
We keep account and purchase records for as long as your account is active, and afterwards as needed for legal, accounting and tax purposes. We rely on the security measures of the platforms listed above, which encrypt data in transit. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised, and we will communicate material changes by email or with a notice on the site.
