Dust in the Wind
Kansas
This month we continue our fingerpicking focus with Dust in the Wind from the band Kansas. Legend has it that guitarist Kerry Livgren created the tune from a fingerpicking exercise. If you listen closely to the riff that we’ll learn you might hear and feel the “exercisey” nature of the pattern. This is a really hypnotic rhythm and we’ll strive for fluidity and speed to match the tempo of the original. Check this live version with the original members still rocking and this more ukecentric version from little instrumentalist phenom, Sean Song.
